Starting nursery can feel like a big step—not just for children, but for parents too! At Balby Central Primary Academy, we strive to make this new chapter a happy and exciting experience for everyone. Read on to discover more about our nursery and what we have to offer.
As children begin their educational journey, we strive to ignite joy and curiosity. We encourage them to have fun and learn through play, exploration, and discovery of the world around them. Our nursery is fortunate to have a spacious and inviting outdoor area, allowing children to experience the many benefits of nature and outdoor learning.
Our dedicated staff engage with children through play, supporting the development of vocabulary, confidence, and essential skills.
Our curriculum is driven by three key principles: 'The Great Outdoors,' 'A Love of Reading,' and 'Independence and Real-Life Skills.' These pillars shape the experiences and learning opportunities children engage in throughout their time in Nursery at Balby Central Primary.
From reading high-quality books to chopping vegetables to make their own soup, and exploring seasonal changes outdoors, our curriculum brings learning to life in meaningful, first hand and engaging ways.
The concepts we teach are carefully chosen to help children become active participants in their own development and the world around them. Through explicit teaching and high-quality books, we ensure that learning is purposeful, giving every child the foundation they need to thrive as lifelong learners and valued members of the Balby Central Primary Academy family and the wider community in which they live.
